Celebrating its 36th year, Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada will kick of the holiday season with its annual “Festival of Trees and Lights Legacy of Love” gala fundraising event on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino. Always a magical tradition, the gala will honor one of DSOSN’s founding members and “Disability Icon”, Linda Smith. She has spent more than 40 years of her life serving the disability community in Nevada and throughout the U.S. In honor of Linda’s unwavering commitment, Gov. Joe Lombardo will present Smith with the inaugural “The Governor’s Lifetime Achievement Award.” The black-tie optional event starts at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions hosted by celebrity auctioneer Christian Kolberg, a multi-course gourmet meal, recognition and awards, and entertainment including a special performance by DSOSN’s Dance Troupe in collaboration with Straight Up Abilities. Tickets are required. Individual gala tickets are available for $300 or $3,000 for a table of 8. Sponsorships opportunities are available starting at $2,500, and advertising opportunities begin at $300.
