The grassroots work we do focuses on eliminating the loss of life from suicide by: delivering innovative prevention programs, educating the public about risk factors and warning signs, raising funds for suicide research and programs, and reaching out to those individuals who have lost someone to suicide. As a part of AFSP’s growing nationwide network of chapters, we bring together people from all backgrounds who want to prevent suicide in our communities. Families and friends who have lost someone to suicide, vulnerable individuals, mental health professionals, clergy, educators, students, community/business leaders, and many others energize our chapter.

In 2017, a small group of sports-minded women came together to launch the Las Vegas Bowl Huddle. Created to support the overall mission of the Las Vegas Bowl in the community, the Huddle focuses annually on elevating the bowl’s presence in the market through community activations, youth football, VIP hospitality and memorable bowl week experiences. Today, the Huddle is over 40 strong and continues to grow its commitment to the Las Vegas community on a year-round basis. Whether it be through the Extra Yard for Teachers Grant Program or the Youth Football Ambassadors Program the Huddle is dedicated to using the platform of the nationally televised bowl game to better our community.
