Michael Milojevic has been educated and taught at architecture schools in the University of Toronto, Illinois, Cambridge and Auckland amongst others, and has conducted fieldwork in Iran, the Balkans, Turkey, Tunisia and Sicily.

His interests and experience are broadly in the areas of archaeology, landscape, architecture and urbanism of North America and Europe, with a broad specialty in the architecture and urbanism of the Mediterranean Basin between the 4th-15th centuries. Since 2001, he has coordinated a dozen international study tours and design studios at Universities in Belgrade, Palermo, Barcelona, Lisbon, Innsbruck and Seville.

I enjoyed this conversation very much, in which we discovered some of what it means to hold a lens through many cultures.

Joseph di Pasquale is an Architect, University Professor, PhD in Architecture, Designer, and Urban Planner. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan, where he earnt a PhD in Modular Hybrid Architecture for Emerging Living Behaviors. He had received an honorary degree in Political and Social Sciences from ISFOA University, Zurich, in 2024. He has also earnt a diploma in Storytelling and Film Directing from the New York Film Academy in 2001. Since 2008, Joseph has been actively involved in cultural dissemination, lecturing in Italy, China, Russia, and the United States, as well as publishing books and articles in numerous international journals and academic publications. He is the founder of Joseph di Pasquale Architects. Some of Joseph’s awards include: the WGDO World Green Design Contribution Award 2015 for the Guangzhou Circle Building; the WT Smart City Award 2017 awarded by Well Tech and the Metropolitan City of Milan (for ChorusLife); ICONIC LANDSCAPE AWARD 2018, awarded by Eco Tech Green and magazine.

Prof. Dr. Richard Kearney is very well published and regarded Professor in Philosophy, a public Intellectual and writer. He is the Charles Seelig Professor in Philosophy at Boston College, has taught at University College Dublin and is a member of the Royal Irish Academy.

In this conversation, Prof. Kearney walks me through his understanding of Narrative, and how and why stories have come to be so important to the human experience. Drawing strongly on both his Gaelic roots, and a thorough understanding of story-telling traditions across cultures, Prof. Kearney guides me through two lines of argument: 1. Why the un-narrated life is not worth living; and 2. A vouch for the return to touch, and the connection-dense experience of life. Speaking of dense, this conversation is very much so in information-per-minute. A lot of important ideas about the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves, both as individuals and groups, are explored. I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation, and seeing that I struggled to keep up in some places, it’s safe to say I was definitely stretched into new waters. A very exciting prospect.

Dr. Sarosh Mulla is an award-winning Designer, Artist, Researcher and Teacher of Architecture, based in Auckland, New Zealand. Alongside being a Director of PAC Studio, Sarosh maintains an active art practice and is a member of the Auckland Public Art Advisory Panel.
