Queensland is on track to surpass 300 road deaths this year which would be a significant increase compared to last year.
Acting Assistant Commissioner Janelle Andrews, from the Road Policing and Regional Support Command, told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "Many people are driving as they live."
"They drive distracted, they drive angry or frustrated, they drive worried and they drive without having any regarding for themselves or other road users," Ms Andrews said.
