  • Episode 0033: Reaction Videos
    Show Notes
    • Host: Dan Hugo

            • Summary: Phone free schools and surgeon general warning labels are all the rage, on both sides of each and still other routes to fixing the pickle in which we find ourselves, thank you social media and attention and surveillance economy platforms. Something does not seem right about these solutions, though, let´s engineer this thing.

                • Summary: Woody Allen of all people famously suggested that 80% of Life is Showing Up. Words to that effect, anyway, you really had to be there. If we take that suggestion literally, we may end up where we are now… perhaps we have.

                        • Summary: Online debates are all the rage, but are they even debates anymore? Should a debate have an after action smack-down session, declarations of victory, and celebrations of the crushing and ultimate destruction of the other side?

                            • Summary: What do we do when there is only one substantive choice, when the masses accept that choice, and then the one choice fails miserably? Do we go to the next most popular and make it the new one, and do that again and again? Is it possible to take back a modicum of agency and maybe autonomy into our uncertain futures?

                                • Summary: Some observations about modern news coverage, the non-stop news coverage situation, and cameras in the court room. The best time to be aware of biased and incomplete reporting was a few thousand years ago, the second best time is now.

                                    • Summary: Once upon a time, products were available to customers when they were Done. Now we are asked to spend real money on all manner of novel thing that is almost ready, or maybe not even that far along. Somewhere in the middle, we all got somewhat used to the Greek alphabet, and we should make a point of bringing it back…
