VIDEO - This week, Abraham's servant meets Rebekah's family. As it turns out, they are wayward bunch with selfish brother, Laban, at the head. While their approval is not necessary, the wise servant does much to preach to them a Gospel worth hearing. (Gen 24:29-51)

VIDEO - After a hearty commisision, Abraham's servant sets off for the land of Nahor. Upon arrival in the land, however, the magnitude of the task overwhelms him, and he cries out for HESED. (Gen 24:10-28)

With Isaac’s life secure, and Sarah gone and buried, the time has come for Abraham to begin his transition of authority over to his son Isaac. But wait! Isaac is an only child and lives as a wandering nomad; how could he possibly acquire a wife for the procreation of the covenant? Good thing father Abraham is around to invoke the most primitive version of eHarmony. (Genesis 22:20-24 & 24:1-10)

An old friend from the past returns on the scene, this time packing "heat" and making demands that threaten the inheritance of Isaac. (Genesis 21:22-34)

Despite all of their shortcomings, doubts, and failures, God remains true to them and gives them a son and a heritage of covenantal loyalty. VIDEO - With the sin of Abimelech exposed, it is now time for Abraham to come clean. However, rather than rebuke him privately and personally, God uses a pagan to clean up His beloved. Turns out that Abraham is full of pride and in desperate need of a little humility. (Genesis 20:9-18)
