Additional discussion of 17776

The Super Bowl may have ended, but football is still alive and well in  the distant future, as is everyone else... For the most part. Today on  Fictron we look at Jon Bois' 17776, an American football story of  sentient space probes, existentialism, and weird football.

Yes, theroomdating.com, a dating site by The Room director Tommy Wiseau, is a real website. We took a look at it...

Welcome to fic.tan() the Fictron aftershow where we go on tangents! Going forward, these segments will serve as vehicles for us to discuss  anything else that may be on our minds with regards to fiction, with no specific focus in particular.

In this segment. Izzy and Peter will be discussing western animation and what it's become. Béla will be interjecting as well, post-recording,  with some of his own thoughts! Shows discussed include (but are not  limited to) Family Guy, Adventure Time, Big Mouth, The Secret Show, and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. So come on grab your friends! We'll go to very distant lands! With violence in movies, and sex on TV, the fun will never end, it's Adventure Guy!

The next episode of Fictron has been recorded! It's been a slow-going  process, not the least of which because I've been really sick lately, but rest assured we are continuing to work on content for this channel!

Today we talk and debate different thresholds for gauging interactive  fiction! Where does fiction actually exist? In the medium, the mind, or  both? We'll examine various examples of interactive media, including but  not limited to video games, virtual reality, alternate reality games,  and polysensory film. The feeling of being able to influence a work of  fiction is a powerful one, as are the feelings of immersion which  ancillary media elements can lend to an experience. Who do you agree  with, and why? Let us know by interacting with us in the comments!
