Field Musicast

Welcome back to the Field Musicast. In this run, Peter and David from Field Music will be digging down into the ideas and inspirations behind their latest album, Limits of Language. We'll kick off, naturally, with track 1 - Six Weeks, Nine Wells, so be prepared for tales of summers frittered away in exurbia and how to keep prog light and fluffy.

Peter and David Brewis of Field Music talk about the new David Brewis solo-ish album The Soft Struggles, as well as string arranging, spontaneity and the difficulties of organising a night out in your forties.

In case you haven't heard, we (Peter and David Brewis of Field Music) have started our own record label, Daylight Saving Records. To celebrate the start of this new venture, we spoke to Ian Black about the story of SLUG so far, getting dressed up as a nun, character self-assassinations and forthcoming album Thy Socialite!

We'll hope to publish new episodes as and when new releases on the label are announced so stay tuned.

Welcome to the Field Musicast - where Peter and David from Field Music wang on about musical stuff. This is the second part of a gargantuan drumming special in which hats are tipped to Mick Fleetwood and Dave Mattacks, Peter realises he will never be a techno-wiz, snare drums are squarely on the first beat of the bar and where we celebrate our dearly-departed friend Dave Harper, Murton's finest professional percussionist.
