  • This Week's Worst: The White House's Morally Bankrupt PR Stunt

What happens when 12 Catholic bishops visit the White House in good faith, only to discover their sacred act of prayer has been turned into a political publicity stunt?

On October 22, Catholic bishops met with White House officials to discuss immigration enforcement, religious worker visas, and human dignity. But what happened afterward in the Oval Office left religious leaders feeling betrayed.

White House communications advisor Margo Martin posted a video of the bishops praying with President Trump, even though the bishops reportedly had no knowledge they were being recorded and had not authorized the video's release.

When questioned, White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers offered no meaningful explanation.

In this episode of Fiercely Independent's This Week's Worst, Chris examines how a meeting intended to address serious humanitarian concerns became a political PR opportunity, and why the White House communications team's refusal to accept responsibility raises a much larger question about moral bankruptcy.

Because financial bankruptcy is one thing. Moral bankruptcy is something else entirely.

  • David vs. Goliath: Ordinary Americans Stand Up to Trump's DOJ

What happens when the full force of the federal government goes after an individual, but ordinary Americans refuse to go along?

Cassidy Hutchinson. Sean Charles Dunn. Letitia James. Sydney Reid. Each faced efforts to bring criminal charges, but the government didn't get everything it wanted.

In this episode of Fiercely Independent, we examine how grand juries have pushed back against federal prosecutors, rejecting indictments and demonstrating that even the most powerful government officials face limits.

It's a modern-day David and Goliath story, but with a surprising twist.

The real Davids aren't necessarily the people the government targets. They're the ordinary citizens whose names we'll probably never know, who have the courage to stand up and say NO.

Because sometimes the greatest defense against an abuse of power isn't a slingshot. It's the courage of an ordinary person.

  • “Rigged Elections”: Trump’s Fake News 2.0

Discredit the news, and people distrust the reporting. Discredit elections, and people distrust the results. Is Trump applying the same strategy to both?

In this episode of Fiercely Independent, Chris examines how Trump’s “fake news” branding translates into a “rigged elections” narrative using repetition to cast doubt on unfavorable outcomes. From Nevada to California and Alaska, he examines the claims and the danger of letting unsupported allegations erode public trust.

Where does criticism become subversion? “Fake news” may discredit the media, but “rigged elections” discredits our democracy.

  • Project 2025 Episode 8 Finale: We the People, or a King?

Who should your government serve: you or those already in power?

In the final episode of Fiercely Independent’s Project 2025 investigation, Chris connects the blueprint’s proposals for presidential power, worker protections, education, the environment, reproductive health care, and the books your child reads.

At the center is a contradiction: the Heritage Foundation champions smaller government and personal freedom while calling for greater government control over choices it opposes.

From Trump’s denial of involvement to an agenda already underway, this finale examines who benefits, who pays the price, and what it means to preserve a republic that serves its people.

America began with “We the People.” What happens when loyalty to one man takes their place?

  • Project 2025 Episode 7: Who Gets to Decide What Your Kids Can Read?

Episode 7: Who Decides What Your Kids Can Read?

Who gets to decide what a 16-year-old can read in school? Their parents, their teachers, or the government?

In Episode 7 of Fiercely Independent's Project 2025 investigation, we examine the Heritage Foundation's proposals targeting books, educational content, and the educators who make that material available.

Project 2025 calls for outlawing pornography and classifying educators and public librarians who provide it as registered sex offenders. But without a clear legal definition of pornography, where would the boundaries be drawn, and who would have the authority to enforce them?

We explore the contradiction between the Heritage Foundation's stated commitment to limited government and parental rights and its proposals to restrict educational content based on ideological and moral standards.

At stake is something bigger than which books remain on library shelves. It's the freedom of parents to make decisions for their own children, the ability of educators to encourage intellectual curiosity, and the right of young people to encounter ideas that challenge their assumptions.

Because freedom of choice doesn't mean everyone has to agree. It means one person's beliefs shouldn't become restrictions on someone else's choices.

  • Project 2025 Episode 6: The War on Science - Who Profits When Science Loses?

What happens when corporate profits and religious ideology become more important than scientific evidence?

In Episode 6 of our Project 2025 investigation, we examine the Heritage Foundation's proposals to dismantle major functions of NOAA, privatize weather forecasting, and eliminate federal climate change research.

We follow the financial interests behind environmental deregulation, examine the consequences for pollution controls and homeowners facing rising insurance costs, and explore the Heritage Foundation's religious principles and their implications for government policy.

From modern environmental policy to Galileo's persecution nearly 400 years ago, this episode asks what happens when powerful institutions place financial interests, ideology, and authority above scientific evidence.

Because suppressing science doesn't change reality. It only changes how we confront it.

And when science loses, we all lose.

  • Project 2025 Episode 5: Reaganomics Returns, and Workers Pay the Price

Project 2025 Episode 5: Reaganomics Returns, and Workers Pay the Price

More than four decades after Ronald Reagan promoted trickle-down economics, Project 2025 is proposing labor policy changes that could benefit businesses at the expense of working Americans.

In Episode 5 of our Project 2025 investigative series, Fiercely Independent examines proposed changes to overtime calculations and independent contractor classifications, and why these changes could mean less pay and fewer protections for workers.

We also explore the growing disparity between CEO compensation and worker wages and connect these proposals to Project 2025's broader agenda involving education, reproductive healthcare, and economic opportunity.

When wealthy families can afford alternatives to shrinking public services and workplace protections, what happens to families who cannot?

And what kind of country are we building if the people doing the work can no longer earn enough to climb the economic ladder, while those already at the top continue accumulating more?

  • Project 2025 Episode 4: The Handmaid’s Tale Is Fiction. This Plan Is Real.

Project 2025 — Episode 4: Women's Healthcare, Privacy, and Reproductive Rights

Government surveillance. Reproductive control. Tracking women across state lines. Sound like The Handmaid's Tale? This isn't fiction. It's Project 2025.

In Episode 4 of Fiercely Independent's investigation into Project 2025, we examine the proposals that could reshape women's healthcare, reproductive freedom, personal privacy, and the government's role in defining marriage and family.

We explore the plan's proposed reporting requirements for abortions, miscarriages, and stillbirths; the use of automated license plate readers in a Texas abortion-related investigation; proposed restrictions on abortion medications and contraception coverage; and the consequences of eliminating federal funding for Planned Parenthood and similar clinics.

We also examine Project 2025's vision of marriage and family, raising questions about its implications for same-sex couples and individual freedom.

For decades, conservatives have argued for states' rights and limited government. But does Project 2025 contradict those principles by seeking greater federal involvement in deeply personal healthcare decisions?

The Handmaid's Tale is fiction. Project 2025 is a real policy agenda.

The central question: How much control over our health, our families, and our private lives are we willing to give the government before it's gone too far?

  • Project 2025: Educational Reform or Racism in Disguise?

Project 2025: Educational Reform or Racism in Disguise? | Episode 3

Why does the Heritage Foundation want to eliminate the Department of Education? Is it about reducing government bureaucracy, or does the proposal represent a fundamental change in who receives educational opportunities and federal protections?

In Episode 3 of our Project 2025 investigation, Fiercely Independent examines the Heritage Foundation's plans to abolish the Department of Education, restructure federal education funding, change civil rights enforcement, and eliminate Head Start.

We explore what these proposals could mean for children with disabilities, low-income families, minority communities, and parents who depend on federal protections to ensure their children receive an appropriate education.

We also examine actions already underway within the Trump administration and explain why eliminating the department entirely would require congressional approval.

The larger question is one of fairness and opportunity. If wealthy families can afford private schools, tutors, and legal representation, what happens to children whose families cannot?

Is Project 2025 creating greater educational freedom, or widening an already troubling divide between America's wealthy and disadvantaged communities?

Every child deserves access to a quality education. Should that opportunity depend on income, neighborhood, or skin color?

  • Project 2025 Episode 2: A Government That Answers to One Man?

Project 2025, Episode 2: A Government That Answers to One Man?

What happens when government employees uncover corruption, challenge the White House, or report facts the administration doesn't want to hear?

In Episode 2 of our Project 2025 investigation, Fiercely Independent examines how the Trump administration is restructuring federal employment to give the White House greater control over career government employees.

Approximately 8,000 senior federal positions have been reclassified under a new personnel system that reduces important protections against dismissal.

Supporters argue these changes are necessary to hold unelected officials accountable. But critics question whether removing employment safeguards will discourage federal employees from challenging political leadership, even when public safety, scientific evidence, or the law demands it.

We explore the difference between accountability and political loyalty, what these changes mean for whistleblowers, and why every American has a stake in maintaining an independent, fact-driven public service.

Because when protecting your paycheck becomes more important than protecting the public, who does our government really serve?

Next in our investigation: Project 2025's plan to eliminate the Department of Education.
