  • Chasing The Vase with Angela Pugh

One of the most profound statements ever made to me about addiction, was made during this podcast. Angela said, "Addiction is a predator. Addiction attacks when we are alone, feel like crap and isolated." This needs to be foundational understanding. Addiction and recovery are in constant motion of one another. Recovery tale as much effort as addiction. It takes work and effort to heal.

Angela is a Master Coach, the Host of the Addiction Unlimited Podcast, and recovering alcoholic. Angela, "Changed her whole life when she got sober at 33 with nothing more than AA and a willingness to do whatever it takes to live sober and happy. She shares her advice to the newcomer and to the recovery expert. Angela carries around a "Recovery Toolkit" that helps everyone in recovery.

  • Chasing The Vase with Jarrod AKA "Strength In Time"

Had an amazing time hearing Jarrod share his journey from Addict to Peer Recovery Specialist. Jarrod is a Suicide Attempt Survivor. He was forced to make a U-Turn in life. He was on his way to death or prison. Jarrod focused on self-improvement during his recovery. He understood the importance of reading books that had purpose and could better his life. He learned about the law of attraction. Good in good out, bad in bad out! Jarrod made sure that his goals and motives were written down on a daily basis.

He is always focused on his recovery and figured out a way to go on the defensive. He has reversed engineered his recovery process. He has become intimately engaged with his recovery process. He believes too many addicts become comfortable with sobriety that they stop healing and growing. Jarrod said that being comfortable is the enemy of progression.

  • Chasing The Vase with Portia Louder

How did a mother of 5 living in Utah end up with 8 years in Prison? From an outsider looking in, Portia had it all figured out. She was married to a wonderful man, she was a devote member of her local church community, was supportive of her 5 children all while running a successful photography business. As her photography business began to take off, she dipped her hands into the real-estate market. Her business exploded and she became lost in the adventure.

Portia was ultimately investigated by the FBI and remarkably sentenced to prison on Federal charges. The journey to prison was one to talk about, but her ability to overcome her addiction is even more remarkable. Portia had to detox on the prison floor. Once she got through it and identified her purpose, Portia changed the lives of the women she served with.

Portia's story is emotional and honest. She is strong and resilient. She overcame her demons and uses that motivation to share strength and hope with everyone she meets.

  • Chase The Vase with Kevin McCabe

In todays episode of the Chase The Vase Podcast, I am honored to share the microphone with legendary Arizona Sports Anchor Kevin McCabe. As a young child, I watched Kevin work Arizona sports. It was our hope that Kevin would show up to our school to highlight our teams accomplishments on the local sports wrap up.

During this time, Kevin was in active addiction and struggling to keep his addiction private. He was friends with Charles Barkley and was a local in the Who's Who in Arizona. From an outsider looking in, it appeared as if Kevin was larger than life, but on the inside, he was hiding secrets that would soon be discovered. Ultimately, the affects of his addiction would cost him his career.

Kevin was faced with a metaphorical 500 pound gorilla standing in his path. He had a decision to make, face it or run from it! Kevin attacked it head on and overcame the biggest fight of his life. He stands sober today and is a beacon of hope for those struggling with addiction.
