We have returned to Earth to talk about a movie about family, friends, grief, and how music can help bring us together and heal. We also did some homework to create some mixtape-style playlists of our own with some fun stories about our family.

In March of 2021, we talked about two movies that have nothing to do with each other except they were first-time watches for each of us. Nancy picked a classic Richard Linklater film and I picked a sequel to a sci-fi classic with a kick-ass soundtrack. 

Recorded in February of 2021, we return from a hiatus with a long-lost episode about 1980's indulgence in drugs and self-loathing by reviewing Less Than Zero and American Psycho.

In this episode, we explore two of Wes Anderson's tales of love and revenge, along with other fun and playful strangeness. Anderson's style begins to blossom in the battle for love between Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray in Rushmore (1998) and is at its peak almost 20 years later in The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014).

What makes a comedy a classic? With so many different types of things that make us laugh, who's really one to be the judge?

Well, we have microphones, so in this episode, we are. These two classics at one point or another made us laugh so hard you'd think we had a drinking problem. First we talk about the movie that laid the groundwork for what we call comedy, Airplane! (1980), and then we debate the inner workings and downright horrors of being in an office in Mike Judge's "9 to 5 turned Superman III" classic, Office Space (1999).
