United at last, the Filibuster crew is back to talk about another packed week of soccer. We talk about D.C. United's stunning win over Sporting Kansas City, including asking if anyone expected that win, good teams having bad games, which of the three goals was the best, Luis Silva and Eddie Johnson, and the performance of Steve Birnbaum this year.

We then move on to talk about the LA Galaxy, who D.C. United face in a midweek game. We talk about their shift from a diamond to a flat 4-4-2, talk about Bruce Arena's interview with Steve Goff, and get the breakdown on their tactics and their recent performance.

We then turn our eyes to the weekend to talk about the New York/New Jersey Metrostars and their trip to RFK Stadium. We talk about Thierry Henry versus Fabian Espindola, the Red Bulls and their current position in the table, Tim Cahill and NYRB's formation choices, and which New York will show up. Do you like Filibuster? Well, you better, because there is so much soccer action happening that we are giving you two episodes this week. Adam, Ryan, and Jason start out by review D.C. United versus Waterhouse FC, where United won 1-0 in their first game of Concacaf Champions League action. We then move on to talk about the news that Tim Howard just dropped, saying that he is taking a break from the United States men's national team for a year, which would include missing next summer's Gold Cup. We talk about who is behind him in the pecking order, including one goalkeeper that happens to play here in the District. United's loss at Real Salt Lake. We talk about the first goal in general, in particular Bobby Boswell's role in it, and then talk about the defense in this game overall. That's really all we had the stomach to talk about from this game. We then have to talk about Eddie Johnson's comments on Twitter after the game, in particular the comment that he's "not here to please your town."

After a break, we look to the future and talk about the Concacaf Champions League. We start by discussion the first match between Tauro FC and Waterhouse FC, which Waterhouse surprisingly won 2-1. We then talk about how Waterhouse and D.C. United match up, since we play them next Wednesday. Finally, we hit some of the highlights around the CCL so far.

Finally, we come to D.C. United's game this weekend (on Sunday, not Saturday), when they welcome the Colorado Rapids to RFK. We then move on to this Sunday's game in Houston against the Dynamo. We talk about why they are so bad this season, their new signings (such as DaMarcus Beasley) and how they will fit in, and how D.C. United should plan to break down Houston. United's 2-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes, and talk about their road win streak, Bill Hamid, Chris Rolfe, the MLS team of the week, and the difference in performance between the first half hour and the next sixty minutes. We end the segment by looking again at the quandry that is Eddie Johnson.

In the second segment, we give a brief rundown of the World Cup as a whole, including our cures for our massive World Cup hangovers, what D.C. United and MLS can do to take advantage of the World Cup, and the TV ratings of the final.

In our last segment, we bring on Alicia Rodriguez of The Goat Parade to preview all things Chivas USA. We ask her about the Goats four game winning streak, Cubo Torres and their prospects of keeping him, the cast of characters around Torres, Wilmer Cabrerra, and Eric Avila and other fullbacks. We also get an update on the team's ownership situation, and close by getting a gameplan to beat Chivas. Give it a listen!

We then discuss the recently-released schedule for the Concacaf Champions League (Concachamps, if you will). While the end of August will be brutal for United, it is surprisingly not as bad as it could have been. We then check back in with the World Cup, and give our thoughts about Germany v. Brazil and Netherlands v. Argentin.

Finally, we turn our eyes to the late-Friday-night game against the San Jose Earthquakes: We discuss what has changed about the 'Quakes since 2012, whether or not Chris Wondolowski can provide any creativity, what they need to do to change their poor form, and what D.C.
