Film Compadres

GRAND FINALE! Grab a cuppa and say “hear you later” because we will take a brief hiatus. Before that, sink your teeth into this week’s review of Ted Lasso and Apple TV+’s offerings as a whole. Ariel can’t get his head around the ever-evolving Fast-Paced Review format, and Matt gets a surprise in his inbox.

FINALLY… It took years for Jet Li to fight Jackie Chan and a few years more for the Film Compadres to talk about it. This episode has it all, martial arts, bloopers and a great question from one of our listeners.

HAPPY NEW YEAR... Well, it’s 2021 and the the Film Compadres have figured out a way to travel through time. Past Ariel gets nervous, past Matt gets excited and it wouldn’t be an FC episode without a little bit of mockery.

MERRY CHRISTMAS... In this very special edition of the Film Compadres podcast, Matt and Ariel get in sync. Ariel does a bang on impression of Matt and look out everybody there are new carollers in town, Jimmy and Timmy grace us with this season’s new Carol, an FC exclusive, Four Fires (A Christmas Carol).

You can join in for a singalong:

Four fires, Smoking up four chimneys

Four pies, Each filled up with mincemeat

Four years, Waiting for a pony

Four balls, Made of freezing snow

SORRY LENA... Episode 4 is finally here! Ariel struggles to do a fast review, Matt agrees with a listener and we definitely didn’t forget to name the film this time.

ANYWHO...In our third episode, Ariel talks spells, Matt gets a bit hyper and we answer the best question yet. For some reason, we cannot pronounce ‘Lena Waithe’, and we fail to name the film we’re reviewing, unexpectedly. Anywho, we must move Onward. “Planes this is not.”*

*Planes is a Disney film about planes, purloining the plot from Cars, a very nice Disney-Pixar film about cars. Ergo, the Film Compadres don’t think much of it.

WHAT A HEADACHE! In this week's episode, Ariel gets frustrated at the nonsense that is Tenet. Matt pretends to understand it but we think he's also quite confused. Our 'really fast-paced Film Compadres review and quick-fire question round' gets a twist (and perhaps a slightly new name). And, once again, our listeners grace us with their questions.

GRAND PREMIERE! In today's episode, we talk about the critically acclaimed Get Out. We get into an interesting exchange in our segment “The really fast-paced Film Compadres review and quick-fire question round” and we finish up with a question from our listeners.
