Sympathetic Nazis + 5hrs of your life your never getting back = Das Boot

In the latest episode of Film Interrupted, Jack and Martin make Nick suffer through the most arduous entry in his List of Shame, Wolfgang Peterson’s WWII epic ‘Das Boot’. In Nick’s defense, a 5hr movie featuring little else than pale, unwashed Germans discussing nationalism and boredom isn’t a big seller for most. But that didn’t stop Martin and Jack giving him a hard time.
