D. W. Griffith has done it again! Giving us another radically controversial film Broken Blossoms from 1919. Ok its not as bad as others he has but still. Its an American silent drama film with abuse and racism. I cant wait until we get to watch some modern day cinema... SMH.
Intolerance is a 1916 epic silent film directed by D. W. Griffith. Essentially it follows four separate stories simultaneously that go through the ages and show how people are dicks to each other. Its true, people can be MASSIVE dicks and the tittle of the film "Intolerance" sums that up pretty well
Ok, The Birth of a Nation is a film from 1915 and it is INCREDIBLEY RACIST. However it is on the list so we have to watch it. So lets take a look at what it has to offer, between the good and bad, and try to put aside the radical racism that was present in the early 1900's
Les Vampires is a French silent film made in 1915–16. Written and directed by Louis Feuillade it is set in Paris and follows the events of a journalist and his comedic friend who try to stop a criminal group known as Les Vampires. At nearly EIGHT hours long this film is not for the faint of heart and doesn't actually have any vampires. So lets try and unpack all that in one episode.
