“My name is Stella, I'm Brazilian and I'm 27. The Ring was the first film I wrote and directed. I got the opportunity through a workshop that precedes the Super 8 Festival. So before making our own films with the Super 8 camera, everyone had 2 days of training to use the Super 8 camera: Day 1 was theory and Day 2 was practical. After that, each person, including me, was loaned the camera for 1 week to shoot a black-and-white silent film, and we had to do it in one take on a single reel of film! However, I didn't get to watch my film until the Exhibition at the festival. Because of that, I was scarred thinking if the movie was OK. But in the end, it won the Best Film according to the popular jury! It was an incredible surprise! After the film was digitalized, I enhanced the dialogue and credits in post-production, cause they were a little blurry. But for the most part, the film is the way it was screened at the festival.”
