“"I, JAGANMOY PAUL, am a Human Rights Filmmaker, Scriptwriter, and Theatre Activist in Bangladesh. I did my Post Graduate Diploma in filmmaking from the Bangladesh Cinema and Television Institute (BCTI) under The Ministry of Information & Broadcast in Bangladesh.
As a Human Rights Filmmaker, I always push the sensitivity on Gender and human rights in my visual storytelling –fiction or non-fiction. My professional experiences help me to think and build a different perspective to understand the world through a gender lens. My documentary film THE REVAMP (based on the issue of DIVORCE) got the Best National Film Award at the 10th Liberation DocFest 2022 and was officially selected at the international festival in Seoul, South Korea. & the other Film ROCKY, THE SEA KID (based on a child of the seaside and his dream) got the special JURY AWARD in a 3-minute film festival & competition organized by the National Academy of Fine and Performing Arts, Bangladesh. The Short Fiction “THE LIFELINE” was officially Selected & premiered at the 21st DHAKA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2023. And also selected for the 4th Karnataka Youth International Film Festival 2023 (KYIFF)
And the Ongoing development project – The insights of Relation (Life, Love & Liberty), a story of a single mother who fears to keep her son with herself, based on Custody Law in Bangladesh was selected, mentored & pitched in the 6th Dhaka DocLab 2022. I’m also one of the alumni of Dhaka DocLab. I am the owner of JP.BD Productions, an audio-visual communication firm since 2017 (reg. 2020)."”
