“My name is Julia Messick, I am a Brooklyn-based filmmaker originally from Daytona Beach, FL. I am pursuing a BFA in Film at Pratt Institute. My works explore themes of identity, the uncanny, and magical realism. My personal experiences - whether it’s my interest in the supernatural, or growing up playing with lizards in Florida - heavily influence my screenwriting. In my narrative work, I enjoy working with child actors to display imagination, playfulness, and fantasy.”
