This episode we talk about a current release and Chile's submission to the 2020 Oscars, The Mole Agent. This is an Interesting documentary that follows around an older man hired to investigate a long term care facility. The film is less an investigation and more an exploration of emotions and loneliness amongst its residents. We had a split decision and discussed somethings we like and dislike about this format of documentary.

This episode we watch two of the early landmark Gialli films, both by Mario Bava. The first one is the black and white classic often cited as the first Giallo of note, The Girl Who Knew Too Much. This is an older style film that has more of the toned down gothic note of Bava's earlier work. The following film takes place just a year later and is perhaps the most important 1960s Giallo film, Blood and Black Lace. This is a gorgeous film, way ahead of its time with popping colors and inspired set pieces.

In this episode Inaki and I discuss Argento's sequel to Suspiria, Inferno. This is an absolutely stunningly beautiful film with some highly memorable set pieces. We walk through our favorite moments of the film, discuss the disjointed structure of it, the controversial Keith Emerson soundtrack, and whether this film would be better with more famous leads (James Woods was originally cast).

In this episode we discuss Argento's mad classic from 1977 as well as the 2018 remake by Luca Guadagnino.  The original from 1977 is a true Italian horror classic and holds up amazingly well. The 2018 had a very polarizing reaction and while both Inaki and I enjoy that film we differ a bit more on how we evaluate it.
