She talks about her birthday cinema trip Sense and Sensibility. Where she compares it to her beloved Ang Lee version. Ellies final pick is of course the Celebrity Traitors, enough said.

Martin's Picks are very much on brand given that it's October and spooky season. His first pick is Carrie the latest TV adaptation from Mike Flanagan brought up to date for the modern age of social media. We talk about just how brutal and how fletched out more the characters are in this. He talks about the best time he's had at the cinema for the longest time, in Resident Evil. We talk about just how equally funny and scary this film is. Martin's last pick is the video game Elden Ring. Mainly talks about death and dying.

This month Tom Cruise is back in movie where he's playing the character of Digger in the movie Digger. You could say an exercise in what Tom Cruise would actually look like at sixty if he were a normal person. Your mileage may vary of course. Anyway we talking about one of biggest movies stars still around Tom Cruise, and joining me to talk all things Tom Cruise films is the fabulous and newest member of the League of Podcasts Heather J Stewart. Heather brings along her Rev almanac buddy Amanda from Oscar Upsets.

My Film vs My Inspiration is back once again for another episode. A short but fascinatingly sweet one. This episode I'm joined by the writer, director and all round filmmaker, Callum Brown to talk about his latest short film Interference. We talk in great detail about his film making style and his process. We talk about the themes of not giving up and vanquishing your internals demons when comes to becoming a film maker. We of course talk about his film inspirations that include, Fight Club, Good Will Hunting, Slender Man and The Batman.

Whats this I hear you cry? Well we are starting a brand new podcast series called the Top Picks Watchlist. Every month I'll be chatting to the other half, Ellie about simply what we've been watching. Not only that I'll be opening up the conversation to all forms of media. We'll talking books, tv shows and games too. Martin and Ellie will both pick three watches and have a good chat about them. At the end of the episode we will each pick a film or other form of media to add to thier watchlist or choose something as a recommendation.

Just to say that we are using different microphones than we normally use on the podcast so the sound will be slightly different.   

For this first episode Martins picks are X-Men 97 season 2, where he talks about how crazy the show is and how nostalgic it feels. The film Together from last year and how it was slight disappointment but a good gateway film for new horror fans. Plus The End of Oak Street, we talk about how they made dinosaurs dangerous again. 

Ellies picks are Ann Droid the TV series, she talks about how real and funny it is. The audio book The Crescent City by Sarah J Mass, she talks about how amazing it is crossing over with Mass's over fantasy book series ACOTAR.  Ellies last pick is the comedy classic Airplane. We talk about how relentlessly funny it is.

This episode we are going back to whats on at the cinemas, oh and of course the legendary director, Ridley Scott is bringing out yet another movie at the incredible age of 88 years old. That movie is the Dog Stars. A post-apocalyptic film and so we'll be concentrating our attentions to out favourite post-apocalyptic films for the second time on the podcast. Joining me once again to talk all things about the downfall of the postal service is Tommy from Haven't Scene It: A Movie Podcast.

Martin's pick for Post-Apocalyptic films is staying very much in the Mad Max universe and also the very underrated Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. On this one we talk about how George Miller has not lost his touch as an action director.
