I'm breaking down the underperformance, the story, and box office bomb of FURIOSA: A Mad Max Saga (2024). We go from where it went wrong with waiting 9 years to release the film after the global success of MAD MAX: Fury Road (2015), and absence of Charlize Theron as Imperator Furiosa, all the way to the story itself, especially with the character of Rictus.
Despite everything, including the minimum dialogue, FURIOSA was magnificent, with the soundtrack, cinematography, and George Miller's directing. And I will talk about what could have been better to improve both the story and box office performance.
As Dements said, "There must be retribution! Justice ... and retribution."
Been waiting to talk about a wrestling movie, and THE IRON CLAW (2023) is the right one.
This A24 film stars Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, Stanley Simmons respectively as the legendary Von Erich's who dominated the wrestling industry in the late 1970s and early 1980s. But along the way, tragedy follow the family. Not only inside the ring, the Kevin Von Erich has to wrestle in life battling hard times.
Written, produced and directed by Sean Durkin, this film is a tragic story about brotherhood, wrestling, and trauma. It's a great movie to watch, even if you're not a wrestling fan.
Wrestling legend Chavo Guerrero was the wrestling consultant and trained Zac Efron as Kevin Von Erich. Also, AEW's longest reigning world heavyweight champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman MJF was not only in a cameo, but also executive producer in the film.
I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?
It's been a while I haven't recorded, but this film is the perfect one to get back into it.
October 1994, Quentin Tarantino’s cult classic PULP FICTION was released in theaters starring Bruce, Willis, John Travolta, Samuel L Jackson, and Uma Thurman, Harvey Keitel, and Tim Roth with Christopher Walken.
And Saturday May 25th, we're back with episode 3.4 breaking down Quentin Tarantino's second piece of his collection.
The world will forever remember this year, as Christopher Nolan wrote and directed his biopic and WW2 masterpiece OPPENHEIMER (2023) with an ensemble cast of Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Matt Damon, Kenneth Baranagh and Rami Malek. We knew the world would not be the same after watching the story of the father of the atomic bomb. We witnessed the live action of the trinity test and the consequences of Oppenheimer's deadly toy, making us leave the theatre silence. Our ears were captured by the amazing work of Ludwig Göransson. And let's not forget the non-linear narrative Nolan did having both colors and black & white, from the perspectives of Strauss and Oppenheimer.
Who would've thought I'd break down another Robert Eggers film?
Not me. But this time I loved it. The Northman (1994) is a revenge viking epic with Aleksander Skarsgård as Amleth the viking whose fate is set to avenge his father after being killed by his uncle Fjolnir, and save his mother.
We talk it all with the story, the deep themes, Norse mythology, and being the sole inspiration of Shakespeare's Hamlet, which led to the Lion King (1994).
It's been seven months since our last episode of this podcast. This movie is film for the season premiere of Films Unchained, as we're going to break down SE7EN (1995).
7 Deadly Sins with 7 Victims in 7 Days. That’s all it takes to make this story and for David Fincher to direct as he likes to call Se7en the 'mediation of evil.'
Everything about it, such as the 7 deadly sins, the psychology of John Doe, and the alternative endings proposed for this story.
Welcome to Season 3 of Films Unchained.
Season finale is exploring the good, the bad, and the ugly of chasing the white rabbit, and being as mad as a hatter.
It’s time we break down the dark side of ALICE IN WONDERLAND - Both 1951 Disney and Tim Burton's Live Action 2010. From the origin of the story with the author Lewis Carroll and his controversies with Alice Liddell to the elements of horror used in wrestling. This season finale is going to be full of curiosity. As David would say, falling down the DARK RABBIT HOLE!

Silence of The Lambs (1991) was a masterpiece. But HANNIBAL (2001) sucked and failed to exceed expectations, especially when directed by Ridley Scott. Also, Julian Moore was bad as Clarice Starling. In this episode, we break down what went wrong with the film, before I present my version of the story on what HANNIBAL (2001) could have been, and of course the good parts of the film will be kept.
Got it?
Okey dokey..
