Listen to the end for a special announcement.

One year ago, I sat in the living room of my apartment with one of my very good friends to discuss corruption on the african continent. It was a discussion that had happened countless times but the difference was that I recorded it. That recording became the first episode of Pod Save Africa and today April 16th is our One year Anniversary.

In that time people on 6 continents in over 70 different countries have listened 33,500 times to 46 episodes consisting of 27 interviews, 11 news updates, 10 group conversations and dozens of shared stories.

I have grown immeseaurably from this one experience, Learning from the perspectives and stories of others has been life changing for me. I am excited by the zeal and passion there is out there for our continent and I am more so excited for the work that is going into turning that passion into positive change in our communities, countries and continent as a whole.

In the future, we will be focusing on helping to tell these stories in an even better manner, the pod save africa team will be working to focus in-depth on topics that and stories that are under reported or not spotlighted.

Thank you for caring and listening and sharing and commenting and liking and discussing and just being amazing. Thank you to all of the phenomenal guests that have shared their stories, perspectives and opinions on the podcast. I thank my two phenomenal partners and cohosts Ifeyinwa Jikeme and Oyinkansola Aderele. I thank the many people who have helped us along the way, the fellow podcasters who have shared, the friends who have given constructive criticism, my girlfriend who purchased my mixer, my family and I thank God.

We have so many more incredible things we working on. We will continue to tell our very own stories. We look forward to another season.

Thank you,

Akinade Aderele
