In the Season 2 finale episode, the show was to investigate the available different solutions for medical aid for an individual that is self-employed a freelancer or an artist. This is after realising that the true reality of things is that most people do not have medical aid and are grossly uninsured and therefore are not prepared for any serious medical emergency. The artist is not prepared for any incident that could lead them to be hospitalized or requiring emergency medical assistance..Our guests went through different options that are available that an individual can go onto the market and purchase in order to provide adequate insurance for different situations, these solutions can be suitable for different individuals depending on age and available income for spending on medical insurance. We go through some of the industry issues that cause poor coverage to the low-income sections of the population and the steps the government to regulate the industry.   

We asked various questions, such as can someone overpay for medical aid. We investigate different products currently serving the market, including hospital plants as well as medical aids. We delve deeper into these products and demystify concepts such as gap covers, chronic diseases and also the limits of each product. Which is the best? We visited Soweto to spend a day with a street icon, creative entrepreneur and podcaster, Mpumelelo Frypan Mfula. Over Black Label beer we discuss the topic of Street culture, how it can be monetized and some of the pitfalls that people continue to fall into in their path for economic freedom. We also discussed how he has been able to have garnered street credibility and cultural reputation that he has, to the point of even being called the mayor of Braamfontein.   

We cover how he has managed to build solid relationships with high-end sneaker brands and how he has nurtured it so that it brings many collaborations. Discussion turns to how understanding the streets leads to people being able to monetize and sell their products much better and Frypan highlights the importance of understanding your market and making sure to meet demand that's there. Key rule is to properly navigating the unwritten laws of Street culture.

In our first episode of 2022, we interviewed the Managing Director of 22Seven Budgeting Mobile App, Jikku Joseph. After a prosperous December period for many of our listeners, we try to assist people to answer the age old Finance for Hippies question, "Where did my money go?"  

We aim to understand the nature of the expenditures people mostly spend their money on. The aim is to assist the people in better management of their personal finances whilst focusing specifically on looking at small expenditures that usually go under the radar and people consider insignificant but accumulate to a large amount at the end of the month.  

From a recent survey we ran with our listeners, we found that most individuals find it difficult to monitor and account for each and every expenditure in their daily lives. This contributes to issues such as the low savings rate in South Africa and spending on frivolous items. The general lack of financial literacy in a large segment of the youth in South Africa has also led to poor financial decisions.
