Financing for EbA remains one of the most pressing challenges for countries trying to pursue climate action. 

In this episode Angelique Pouponneau discusses her research paper which identifies sources of funding for EbA, the barriers to accessing this funding and highlights the Seychelles innovative financing model for marine conservation through its famous Debt-for-Nature Swap.

This podcast series is hosted by the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA), funded by the European Union under the Global Climate Change Alliance Plus Programme (GCCA+), overseen by the SADC Secretariat. It forms part of a project that aims to strengthen the uptake of marine and coastal EbA in the national climate responses of SADC’s coastal states.
