To her children, River and Ike, Hailey is a stouthearted protector and loving mom. To her husband, Chris (whom she married two months after this conversation), she is a beacon of light and long awaited soul mate. To me and our community, Hailey is a supportive friend who has no desire for small talk if there’s a chance to dig deep into what’s really important and that alone makes me feel safe in my own skin. In my phone, Larsen’s nickname is "Planta Claus" because of his penchant for gifting friends and neighbors various trees, herbs, and native flora, all for the good of the network.
