". “When encountering Jesus, we all come to the question for which we must find and give an answer. As we seek to know Him, we are faced with what he has done and what that means for each of us. Of course, coming to terms with what that means will also have an impact on who we are and how we will go forward living. This is true for us today as it was for those who first encountered Him in Capernaum. Scripture will be from Mark 1: 21-28.

Often, when we hear, 'lights, camera, action,' we hear the different stages of preparation. That second step of camera is not just to begin recording, but to make sure the recording is proper, that it is in focus, that we see things clearly. John calls us to grasp the bigger picture and to be clear upon whom we should focus. Our scripture is found in John 1; 6-13

Advent is about preparation - preparation for the first coming of Christ, and preparation for Christ’s coming again. John has a masterful way of opening his Gospel that compels us to look at the bigger picture of what God has done. Much like a play, where we hear, ‘lights, camera, action,’ we get to move through this opening preparation. In this first moment, we are challenged to see the light of Christ and become ones who reflect that light. Our scripture can be found in John 1: 1-5.

This Sunday is traditionally the last Sunday of the church year, with Advent representing the beginning. On the last Sunday of the year, we focus on Christ as King. Our scripture can be found in Matthew 25: 31-46
