- If you don't feel right in the corporate world, take your chance, don't get wasted behind a desk.
- Have the courage to reach out to people who can help your vision grow.
- Grit and resilience are critical to making it through the hard times.
- You don’t need to have a huge marketing budget to create a successful marketing campaign
- Be creative with marketing, you don't always have to pay.
- When raising capital, start by showing interest in what the investor is interested in and ask for a small amount of their time/input before directly asking them to invest.
- Composure is key. We get excited early on entrepreneurs, but need to learn to keep our composure.
Richard’s Story:
* Started out as Barista and loved the Hospitality Industry
* Left promising career at Deloitte after only 1 year
* Covid hit right as he was preparing to launch his company, so he delayed his launch and spent 2 years learning the ins and outs of his goal industry.
* Within the first 90 days of launching Venyu, he built a large user base, and within 6 months of starting the company was successfully monetizing the service.
