In the 4th episode of Wreck Your Perfection, I have the distinct pleasure of interviewing Carrie Bell. Our conversation takes place in her office at Twin Town Guitars in Minneapolis, where she and her spouse are co-owners. Carrie left the corporate world to start and run the education department at Twin Town. As well as employing a full staff of music teachers, Carrie teaches ukulele and clarinet. We dive into her transition into music education, her adventure as a parent of two, the challenges and joys of discovering who you are, and teaching as a partner with your student.
To check out the shop and their amazing lessons program, go to https://twintown.com/ (P.S. Carrie is my old boss - I taught at Twin Town for over two years before moving to the Seattle area. If you live in or near the Twin Cities, I highly recommend their lessons program!)
If you'd like to support Wreck Your Perfection, you can do so monthly for as little as a dollar at https://anchor.fm/wreckyourperfection/support. Ten percent of all donations will go to the World Food Programme, which is a branch of the UN focused on ending global hunger by 2030.
