Finding New Focus as an Intuitive Guide & Spiritual Channel

I'm continuing to bloom in new ways. And I encourage all of you to follow your highest excitement and see what doors open and what magic unfolds for you.

I'm following my own highest excitement and bringing my experience as a certified life coach and personal development trainer to the work I do now offering intuitive guidance and channeled readings for clarity and deep personal transformation.

I did an intuitive guidance session and reading for a client recently, and I thought I'd share a little bit about how the information comes to and through me.

When I do intuitive guidance/spiritual readings for clients, I don't go into the session with any pre-conceived ideas or hopes of providing just the right answer. I trust that whatever comes through is in the highest and best interest of the person seeking guidance.

When I start a session, I basically become a blank canvas. And then images and scenes are shown to me and I relay what I'm seeing to the client. It's almost like watching a movie through a soft-focus lens. I share everything I'm seeing and sensing--and oftentimes when something big hits, I get full-body chills. Sometimes the client also experiences these tingles.

Everything I channel is from a place of love and light. Every message is wrapped in kindness. What I see and what I feel when I channel is so incredibly soft--yet powerful.

Listen in as I share about this gift and journey as an intuitive guide and I hope you'll stay tuned to what I feel is my most authentic self.

  • 5-Minute Focus: Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

Dating After 50 was a chapter of ups and downs and a badly broken heart, and I had to take a long timeout after that. I recently put myself back out there and let's just say that I may give up dating altogether and just start collecting cats.

I've been talking a lot recently about changing chapters (breaking up with previous versions of yourself, mostly because I'm in the midst of yet another chapter change--one that promises to be really, really good. What makes this one different is that I'm flowing into this one with ease and grace because of the lessons I've learned. Changing chapters doesn't have to be hard when you know how to quickly refocus.

Interestingly, I've had chats with many, many people over the past few months who all seem to be changing chapters due to retirement, job loss, career moves, ending of a relationship, a shift in family dynamics, relocating, or simply the desire to change their lives. Some of the changes are by choice, some are by chance.

While some chapter changes can be for happy reasons, the downside and common theme of breaking up and changing chapters--or wanting to change chapters--is feeling lost, stuck, alone, and anxious. What can make things even more stressful is that you can have multiple changes occurring at the same time.

Walking into a new chapter isn't easy. It means leaving behind the comfort of our old selves (no matter how flawed or frayed), trying on a new identity, being in a new place, and walking an uncertain path. All of this involves a degree of risk--which adds to the anxiety of what is probably an already unsettling time for you. It takes a bit of courage.

  • Your Legacy: The Sum of the Small

I was recently asked to give a talk to the local Rotary Club. It was a new term for the president, and she asked if I could speak about "legacy" and the importance of what every single member was doing for the community.

In this podcast, I'll share my talk and the key points I wanted to leave with each of the members.

I wanted them to know that legacies come in many sizes and shapes.

And that the greatest legacy isn't something they leave behind--it's what they leave for the future.

Sometimes we think a legacy has to be big and bold, when in reality it can be the sum of the small acts we share and do for others.

I hope you'll take a few minutes and gain some new insight about what a legacy is and can be.

  • 5-Minute Focus: Use Your Intuition To Guide You

A few days ago I was telling a friend about my podcast. As he scrolled through the episodes, he asked me which one he should listen to first. So my organized, logical brain told him to listen to the intro episode first, then it was okay to skip around because each podcast was basically a stand-alone episode.

But what I should have told him was to scroll through the list of episodes, then stop and listen to the one—or ones—that called to him. Listen to the ones that make you pause over the title—even if it doesn’t make sense to you. Sometimes I give my episodes a clear name of what it’s about, but other times the episode title is a little more random. I give it a title that it says it wants to be. Your intuition will tell you if that message is for you.

When was a time you trusted your intuition and it helped guide you? Or when was a time you didn't listen to your intuition and you wished you had?

Listen in as I talk about using your intuition to guide you on your daily path.

  • 5-Minute Focus: You'll Never Be Right for the Wrong Person--Three Keys to Finding New Focus

No matter what age, no matter what stage of life you’re in, you need to remember this about people and relationships:

You’ll never be right for the wrong person.

I recently met a man whose girlfriend had just left him. He was agonizing over what he could’ve done differently and why he didn’t see the signs of any problems.

First of all, there’s probably nothing he could’ve done differently if she was already determined to leave the relationship. Her reasons were her reasons which may or may not have been as a result of his actions.

And why didn’t he see the signs? Well, it’s possible the signs were there, but he chose to ignore them. Or they were hidden very well. It could also be that the person he thought he was in love with, wasn’t really the person he thought she was. And oftentimes we’re more in love with the fantasy of what this person and relationship could bring to our lives-- than the actual reality. The dream becomes the lie that we choose to ignore. If you find yourself making excuses for and accepting a person’s behavior that’s actually unacceptable to you—then it’s time to reconsider the so-called relationship.

You’ll never be right for the wrong person. When things are out of alignment for you—the relationship will never be right. Unless you are both willing to make accommodations and have those crucial conversations to put things into alignment, things will always be out of balance. And when things are out of balance, the road is never smooth. And sometimes you’re just in the wrong relationship and it’s time to let go.

So what can you do to ease through the loss of a relationship and move forward? And to make sure that your next relationship is your best and last?  Listen in and learn the three keys to finding focus and moving forward.

  • 5-Minute Focus: Joyful Expectation

A few weeks ago I shared a story about a fellow golfer who always looked at her shots in a positive light. No matter where she hit it whether it was behind a tree, in a bunker or actually in the fairway, she always said, “That’s a good shot!” And she went on to make the next shot a great shot.

So the other day I golfed with a few friends. Among them is Dan who is a fighter pilot, a general, and just a great fun guy to play with. What was so fun about Dan is that whenever he was making a putt and the ball was rolling to the hole—whether it was on target or not—Dan would yell, “There it is!” He did this seven or eight times in a row and I think he only actually sunk one of them on the first try. But it was his joyful expectation of sinking that 5 foot or 10 foot or 20-foot putt that was so great. It didn’t matter if the ball actually fell into the hole or not—it was the expectation that it was going in that kept us all laughing and actually hoping the ball would go in.  We were all upbeat, the mood was light and we had a great day of golf. I actually had my lowest round ever that day.

Joyful expectation is something I think we should all practice more of. It’s so easy after a little setback to let disappointment settle in, when instead the better thing to do is focus forward and anticipate a great outcome.

Listen in as I talk more about the power of joyful expectation and how you can use this to overcome overthinking and negative thoughts--and learn to expect the best!

  • 5-Minute Focus: Kosta and Penelope

Things are never quite what they appear... sometimes you have to adjust your focus!

When I visited Florida a few months ago, I hired a taxi to take me to the airport for my return flight. A big black van pulled up to gather me and my luggage. The driver stepped out and I stepped back. He was this big, imposing-looking man, wearing all black and looking like he could be somebody's bodyguard--or a hit man.

I nervously got into the van (the service had been recommended by the hotel concierge, so I figured it had to be legit), and imagined what would be a nervous and quiet 30-minute ride to the airport.

As I got settled in my seat behind the driver, all of a sudden this little furry face turned to look at me from the front passenger seat. I couldn't help but smile and I asked the driver, "Who's this???"

He said, "That's Penelope. She's my co-pilot. And my icebreaker."

He went on to say that he knows he looks intimidating, so he brings his little Yorkshire terrier along while he drives.

Listen in as I tell the story of meeting Kosta and Penelope, how they were a bright spot in my day, and how I learned that sometimes you have to adjust your focus.

  • 5-Minute Focus: Your Right Tribe...Will Bring You More Than Oreos and Jack Daniels

A few years ago I decided to try my hand at dating. It’d been a few years since my husband had passed and I figured I’d give online dating a try. (I may do a whole separate podcast about online dating—that is definitely not for the feint of heart!)

Anyway, I had gone out with a guy, we’d hit it off great and dated for about a month. Things were going great, or so I thought. But then one morning I woke up to what was basically a “Dear Jane” email. An email breaking it off. Not even a phone call, just a cold, impersonal email.

Anyway, I got into a funk, I wondered what I’d done wrong. To this day I still don’t know what happened, but my self-esteem was shattered. I called one of my neighbor ladies, explained what had happened and said I was feeling very down and dejected.

Within 15 minutes there was a knock at my door and there stood four of my dear neighbor ladies--my tribe. It was as if they’d put out an emergency alert, gathered some supplies and headed over to my house. As they came in, I could see they had brought a good assortment of comfort items: Wine and cheese, Oreo cookies, chocolates from Japan, some BBQ chips, popcorn, and a bottle of Jack Daniels....

Listen in as I explain how my tribe held me up and held me together. And what you can do if you don't have a tribe yet.
