Finding Freedom From Yourself

Self. We think about it, work on it, talk about it, love it, and even trust in it. While everyone around us seems to be pursuing their ideal selves in a never-ending project, Jesus is the only person to know what it means to be human fully. Throughout his life, Jesus lived in complete trust of the Father, showing us where true freedom comes from—dependence. Tony and Russ explore the cultural phenomena of humanity's love of self and consider what life could look like if we dared to look outside of ourselves and onto the one who graciously made us and reconciled us. This episode is the first of a string of podcasts focused on considering how God's liberating love informs and shapes our everyday lives.
