There is a man working in a office in suburban Melbourne literally fixing the effects of the climate crisis. It sounds fake but it's real.
His name is Tony Rinaudo and for years he has successfully 'regreened' areas of the Sahara, working with local farming communities to turn barren land back into fertile green locations, turning the tide of climate change on the planet.
Daniel Wordsworth couldn't believe it either, so set about trying to find Tony... turns out he didn't have to go far. Tony works in the office upstairs from Daniel!
In this eye-opening episode, Tony Rinaudo joins the podcast to discuss his groundbreaking technique to regrow forests and combat climate change: Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR). Empowering local communities, he's unlocked the potential of dormant trees, and aims to regenerate one billion hectares. He really is the Guardian of the Greenery - Earth's Avenger!
You can see the documentary on Tony and FMNR here, if you're in Australia.
