Story Transcript:

Ga: I lár an fhómhair, áit a raibh crannóga an fhoraois ag caitheamh scáth oranáiste agus órga, bhí Maeve agus Connor ag iarraidh a mbealach a dhéanamh tríd Fhoraois Chrua Wicklow.
En: In the middle of autumn, where the forest’s trees were casting hues of orange and gold, Maeve and Connor were trying to find their way through the Wicklow Mountains Forest.

Ga: Bhí an talamh faoinár gcosa brataithe le duilleoga, gach ceann acu ag insint a scéil féin faoin fhómhar.
En: The ground beneath them was carpeted with leaves, each one telling its own story of autumn.

Ga: Bhí Maeve ag siúl go mall, súil ag scimeáil an choill do dhathanna agus cruthanna do a cnuasach ar fad.
En: Maeve walked slowly, her eyes scanning the forest for colors and shapes for her collection.

Ga: Bhí ínspioráid uirthi gach cúinne a dara linn a súile.
En: She was inspired every corner her eyes glanced upon.

Ga: Connor, ar an lámh eile, bhí a cheann laghdaithe go soiléir ar na carraigeacha.
En: Connor, on the other hand, had his head lowered, focused intently on the rocks.

Ga: Bhí taispeántáin den chré agus clocha oirginal aige a raibh suim mhór aige iontu.
En: He had displays of clay and original stones in which he had great interest.

Ga: Bhí an aimsir ciúin agus deas, ach go tobann thosaigh an ghaoth ag ciceáil suas.
En: The weather was calm and nice, but suddenly the wind began to pick up.

Ga: Ar lár an lae, scaoileadh na scamaill a gcuid uisce.
En: By midday, the clouds released their rain.

Ga: Bhí díon speisialta ag teastáil.
En: They needed special shelter.

Ga: Gan choinne, rith Maeve agus Connor mar phluid isteach i mbéal crann mór seanda.
En: Unexpectedly, Maeve and Connor dashed like a blanket into the mouth of a large ancient tree.

Ga: Bhí an plúchtóir cluthar, agus iontas dá laghad orthu, bhuail siad lena chéile.
En: The hollow was cozy, and to their surprise, they met each other.

Ga: "Conas atá?
En: "How are you?"

Ga: " a dúirt Maeve, ag iarraidh a phlé go fial.
En: Maeve asked, attempting to engage in friendly talk.

Ga: "Dia dhaoibh," arsa Connor, ag féachaint timpeall go cúramach, seans éigin a thógáil le sos a ghlacadh ón mbrú is na clocha.
En: "Hello," Connor said, looking around carefully, seizing an opportunity to take a break from the pressure and the stones.

Ga: Thosaigh comhrá fada eatarthu.
En: They began a long conversation.

Ga: Bhí sé simplí ar dtús, cé chomh deas is a bhí an fhoraois agus cé chomh baolach is a bhí an aimsir, ach go luath thosaigh an comhrá ag dul níos doimhne.
En: It was simple at first, how nice the forest was and how unpredictable the weather had been, but soon the conversation grew deeper.

Ga: Labhair Maeve faoi gach áit ina ndeachaigh sí, ag lorg áite gur mhothaigh sí mar bhaile.
En: Maeve talked about every place she had visited, looking for somewhere she felt at home.

Ga: Roinn Connor a mhíshástacht le sónna amháin i saol ina raibh eolaíocht i gceannas.
En: Connor shared his dissatisfaction with a life dominated by science alone.

Ga: "Tá an cineál seo saoil deacair," a dúirt Maeve, "Cheroibh mé in áit ar bith mar is féidir liom maireachtáil níos mó.
En: "This kind of life is hard," said Maeve, "I've never been anywhere where I can truly live."

Ga: ""Nílim cinnte faoi mo bhealach," a d'admhaigh Connor go hálainn.
En: "I'm not certain about my path," Connor admitted honestly.

Ga: "B'fhéidir go bhfuil níos mó ann ná a m'achan chlach.
En: "Maybe there's more to life than just my every stone."

Ga: "Ansin, a luaithe a stad an báisteach, bhí rud éigin tiubh sa spéir.
En: Then, as soon as the rain stopped, there was something thick in the sky.

Ga: Bhí an ghéoig ag teacht amach, agus bhí an bhféidearthacht nua ag tabhairt aghaidh orthu.
En: The mist was clearing, and a new possibility lay before them.

Ga: Thairg Connor lámha Maeve, agus le féithe aontaithe, thosaigh siad ag siúl le chéile, an choill fós ag scaipeadh a n-óránach.
En: Connor offered Maeve his hands, and with united veins, they began to walk together, the forest still spreading its golden hue.

Ga: Ní raibh an áit amháin a dhéanaidh an bhaile do Maeve anois, ach duine.
En: The place was no longer the only home for Maeve, but a person.

Ga: Don chéad uair, bhí sí suaimhneach.
En: For the first time, she felt peaceful.

Ga: D'fhoghlaim Connor rud beag níos mó faoi úsáid loighic agus tinte eolais, dul i ngleic lena shaol le lán spiorad nua seachas céacht leaids fhuar amháin.
En: Connor learned a little more about using logic and sparks of knowledge, approaching his life with a new spirit rather than just cold hard facts.

Ga: Bhí ceol na héin agus gáire timpeall orthu, agus mhothaigh siad áthas nua — an nasc idir nádúr agus nasc an duine.
En: The music of the birds and laughter surrounded them, and they felt a new joy — the connection between nature and human connection.
