  • 72. Why Only God Can Judge -- Rough Draft Speech for Class

This video is a rough draft of a speech I gave for class. This chapter of Mere Christianity was really interesting and touching for me. We ought not judge each other because we don't really see each other as God does.

  • 71. Why Are We Interested in What We Are?

This is the first solo video I've made in over 1.5 months (almost 2 months, actually) and so I wanted to talk about that--only I attempted to do so in a more abstract way. Some of the things I was mumbling about here are really fascinating to me so far as it concerns flow states, meaning, and personal interests.

Sorry about not publishing/recording this yesterday or the day before. Hopefully, I'll be able to get back on track. Looks like, though, that next week will be a dead week because I will be out of town.

  • 70. An Interesting Angel of a Conversation: Personal Lives and Personal Truth

This is my first conversation with Richard. I had some technical difficulties during this conversation, and, because of this, the beginning was not recorded. We prayed to begin the conversation which Richard thought would be a good "angel" (or "spirit") to start our conversation out with (and I agreed). We talked about our own lives and then transitioned to briefly talk about the nature of truth (which we hope to continue discussing in the future). I hope someone finds something helpful in here. I greatly enjoyed it and look forward to the next time I will get to talk to Richard.

Note: for those of you who were regularly watching my videos I apologize for the complete halt in production over the last month. I am, at the moment, planning to try to release one video every Tuesday. I think the size of my channel doesn't warrant any more than that and I am also having many things to tend to outside of my stuff online. Hopefully I can keep the once-a-week pace up.

This conversation was recorded on February 13th, 2022.

  • From Cults to Christianity

In this video, I talk with Noah Shaffmaster, my friend from the basketball team. This was my first in person conversation that I’ve recorded and posted. In it, we go and talk about everything from cults to Christianity. Noah and I have had a few deep in person conversations, so this one more or less builds off of some of those. I’ve been trying to understand what Noah thinks about God and religion and this conversation was very helpful in that.

    This is episode 69.

  • Building a Community of Trust in a Rowing Team

This video is on the book "Boys in the Boat" by Daniel James Brown. I thought this story portrayed, more than anything, the value and necessity that we are involved in a community of trust.

  • 67. Some of What I've Learned After 1 Year of Video-Making

NOTE: I didn't realize that the computer audio wasn't uploading to the stream so that you all couldn't hear it; thus, you will have t use your imaginations in the silent spots to hear what I was hearing.

I thought I should probably do a "year in review" type video at this point. Hope this helps to give you a sense of what I'm doing online.

  • Who is Daniel Idfresne?

This is my first conversation with my new friend Daniel. In this talk, I wanted to understand Daniel's life and other things which have shaped him. We also touch on things such as the future of universities. Daniel and I hope to have another conversation before too long about the intersection of philosophy and public politics, among other things.

    Daniel has a channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/DanielIdfresne

  • 65. Why "Spider-Man: No Way Home" Might be the Most Christian Movie I've Ever Seen

I finally was able to watch the new Spider-Man movie and here are my takeaways. In sum, I can't remember a more Christian movie that I have ever watched. There are definitely others that are close, but this one seems to represent a very important piece of the Christ story. Hope you enjoy and feel free to give me any pushback.

  • 64. Mormonism and "Faith"

I walk through a speech arguing for Mormonism. Then, I puzzle through what it means for something to be "true" or "false." Still working on thinking through this a lot. This was a rather transparent video. I hope you enjoy.
