Have you ever felt it was your responsibility to fix or make everything all better for those you love? Have you felt frustrated when your efforts to do so are rejected or met with resentment?
Today, we are going to learn about a skill that is like magic in relationships: validation. Many times, the negative behavior of others arises because we fail to understand and adequately validate their underlying feelings, needs, and desires. We jump quickly into the advice-giving mode, the correction mode, or we take on the role of fixer and problem-solver. Those knee-jerk reactions can prevent emotional connections that are critical to healthy, family relationships.
Our guest, Gary Lundberg, will illustrate how validation, a simple yet profound communication tool can strengthen any relationship and foster greater emotional connection.
Gary with his wife Joy, are authors of five popular books on relationships:
• I Don’t Have to Make Everything All Better: Empowering others to solve their own problems while enriching your relationships
• Married For Better Not Worse
• Meeting Amazing Grace: Wisdom for All Families and In-laws, (a novel based on true stories)
• Love That Lasts: 14 Secrets to a More Joyful, Passionate, and Fulfilling Marriage.
• Because We Love Our Marriage: 12 Ways to Safeguard Your Eternal Relationship.

Racism has raised up its ugly head in surprising and violent ways in recent months. How have you felt about all of this? Have these current circumstances aroused tender and painful memories for you?
Not long ago, during world war 2, the people of Japanese ancestry were the victims of racism in the United Sates. Though they were Americans and lived in the land of the free, they were suddenly deemed to be the enemy, were rapidly rounded up and detained for 3 years behind barbed wire in remote relocation camps. This was true for our guest, Roger Koide’s, family.
When I asked Roger who his hero was, he said, His family. He considered his mother, father and grandparents to all be heroes. The hardships they experienced and the choices they made because of racism have inspired Roger to persevere and do hard things.

This podcast is for everyone. Guest Rhyll Croshaw has had vast experience establishing and maintaining boundaries and helping women all over the world do the same. She applies the process of setting boundaries and surrendering to God to all family relationships and aspects of life.
Setting boundaries with a spouse, child, or relative enables us to have real power over the chaos that can sometimes occur in marriage and family relationships and creates safety for those involved. When we don’t have boundaries, we risk being controlled and manipulated. Boundaries foster respectful and emotionally healthy relationships which can generate more joy and peace in our homes, and empower us to love ourselves and others more.
If you have struggled with setting boundaries in your marriage or have struggled with the effects of pornography in your home. I suggest reading Rhyll Croshaw’s book, “What can I do about Him? Me?” It is a great resource to help you find tools to overcome the effects of pornography in marriage and to find healing for yourself and your marriage. You can find it at: https://salifeline.org/. Also salifeline.org can be a game changer for those with these kind of challenges.

This Podcast is for everyone! You will love Kaye’s meekness and the lessons she learned through her “Refiner’s Fire.” I believe her insights will help you through whatever cross you are called to bear.
What would you do if your life suddenly turned upside down? One day you are normal and healthy as can be and the next day you lose everything. Your whole identity as a person is gone. Your talents, hobbies, interests, and work. Gone. And most importantly, your love for people and relationships becomes severely limited.
With so much of your life taken from you, what will you do to overcome the fear and despair? What will you do to cope, endure, and make it from one day to the next?
Each of us will likely experience our own refiner’s fire before we are prepared to meet the Savior and become heirs of eternal life. Our guest, Kaye Judd, is a great example of one who was refined through her suffering and found peace through Christ.
For those who may be experiencing brain trauma with symptoms such as migraines, vertigo, and extreme anxiety, you may want to check out the program Kaye has found very helpful: Dynamic Neural Retraining System. Here is a link: retraining the brain.com

Deana Coates shares her journey with sorrow and finding eventual peace:
“We had been a pretty typical family, I think. But it felt like the light in our home and family was being dimmed. Our son became very argumentative and didn’t want to spend much time with the family. These were the first warning signs, but these are also signs that a child is experiencing adolescence and growing up. I felt hurt when Brian didn’t want to participate with the family, but, I didn’t suspect drugs.”
Many around the world either struggle with some kind of addiction or have a loved one that does. Deana Coates reminds us, "Try to separate the addiction from the person. We need to tell our loved ones you are not this addiction, or this problem what ever they are going through, you are a beloved daughter and son of God. He loves you and I love you.”
I was so inspired by Dena's story and insights, I believe every parent can glean something form her inspiring wisdom.

There are many new regulations and bills being pushed forward that are scary. All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men and women to do nothing. Evil is on the rise in our beloved land of the free. Will it triumph? Will we lose our precious freedoms such as the right to work and provide for our families or to worship God as we please? With so much chaos going on around us, many are asking what we can do to preserve our democracy and freedoms?
Our guest, Shauna Sanders, will help us discover specific and simple actions we can take to more fully participate in our government, have a say in the bills and regulations being passed, and better prepare for the upcoming elections.
