Finding Peace and Wholeness in the Present

We often feel that peace and happiness are to be found in objects outside of us. That we can become happy only from arranging our external environments in just the right kind of way. Happiness is thereby seen as something to acquire and possess, rather than simply a mode of being in the world.
This video dispels the illusory nature of attaching wholeness to the acquisition of external things, which can often create a sense of insufficiency with the self - thinking that it is not/ doesn’t have enough.
Instead, a lasting sense of wholeness can be located through authentic presence - through orienting to the world from the “being-mode”, as appose to the “having-mode”. In doing this, we limit the propensity of thought to condition and limit our peace according to what we have or must acquire at some future date.
Cultivating this presence creates a sense of wholeness and completeness that is prior to thought.
