Cs: Večerní slunce prozařovalo okna pražského bytu a barvilo místnost zlatavým světlem.
En: The evening sun illuminated the windows of the pražského apartment, coloring the room with golden light.

Cs: Jana stála opřená o kuchyňskou linku a pozorovala svou rodinu.
En: Jana stood leaning against the kitchen counter, watching her family.

Cs: Všude kolem voněla pečená kachna a bramborové knedlíky, které připravila matka s pečlivostí a láskou, jak to dělá na každé rodinné večeři.
En: The scent of roasted duck and potato dumplings, prepared by her mother with care and love as she did at every family dinner, filled the air.

Cs: Stůl byl prostřený, posetý látkovým ubrusem s jemnými květinami, a Jana cítila, jak se jí uvnitř míchají nervozita a vztek.
En: The table was set, covered with a cloth adorned with delicate flowers, and Jana felt a mixture of nervousness and anger brewing inside her.

Cs: Její rodiče za chvíli začnou to staré, známé drama - otázky o její budoucnosti, o jejích ambicích, o tom, že by si z bratra Petra měla vzít příklad.

Cs: Jana vzhlédla na svého staršího bratra, který seděl u stolu, klidný a sebejistý.
En: Jana glanced at her older brother, who sat at the table, calm and confident.

Cs: Byl spokojený se svou prací v úspěšné firmě, zatímco Tereza, mladší sestra, seděla potichu na konci stolu, lhostejná k hrozícímu sporu.
En: He was satisfied with his job at a successful company, while Tereza, the younger sister, sat quietly at the end of the table, indifferent to the impending argument.

Cs: Večeře začala, a jak Jana předpokládala, rozhovor se rychle stočil k jejím plánům.
En: Dinner began, and as Jana had predicted, the conversation quickly turned to her plans.

Cs: „Jani, kdy se rozhodneš něco pořádného dělat?“ zeptala se matka s úšklebkem.
En: “Jani, when will you decide to do something proper?” her mother asked with a smirk.

Cs: Otec jen přikývl a pohledem se připojil ke kritice.
En: Her father merely nodded, joining in the criticism with his gaze.

Cs: „Jsem spokojená se svou prací,“ odpověděla Jana tiše, zatímco v ní rostla frustrace. „Dělám, co mě baví.“
En: “I’m happy with my job,” replied Jana quietly, as frustration grew within her. “I do what I love.”

Cs: Matka se na ni skepticky podívala.
En: Her mother looked at her skeptically.

Cs: „Ale nevidíš, že by ses mohla snažit víc? Petr se dostal tak daleko, proč bys nemohla i ty?“
En: "Don't you see that you could try harder? Petr has achieved so much, why couldn’t you too?”

Cs: Jana cítila, jak jí svírá hrdlo.
En: Jana felt her throat tighten.

Cs: Srdce jí bušilo rychleji a věděla, že dnešní večer se nebude od ostatních lišit, pokud neudělá něco odvážného.
En: Her heart beat faster, and she knew that tonight would not be different from the others unless she did something bold.

Cs: Tereza dál pokradmu ťukala do mobilu, nezúčastněná, ale Petr se zájmem sledoval, že se něco děje.
En: Tereza continued to tap on her cellphone, uninterested, but Petr watched with interest, sensing something was unfolding.

Cs: Zničehonic Jana vstala.
En: Suddenly, Jana stood up.

Cs: „Dost!“ Její hlas prořízl vzduch.
En: "Enough!" Her voice cut through the air.

Cs: Všichni se na ni překvapeně podívali.
En: Everyone looked at her in surprise.

Cs: „Nechcete pochopit, že nechci být jako Petr? Chci být sama sebou! Už mě unavuje, jak mě pořád srovnáváte,“ vyhrkla, a její slova byla jako vlna, která se přelévala přes všechny stoly.
En: “Don’t you want to understand that I don’t want to be like Petr? I want to be myself! I’m tired of you always comparing me,” she burst out, and her words washed over the table like a wave.

Cs: V místnosti zavládlo ticho, jen rytmické tikání hodin rušilo mlčení.
En: Silence filled the room, only the rhythmic ticking of the clock interrupted it.

Cs: Petr se otočil k Janě, v očích výraz překvapení smíchaný s uznáním.
En: Petr turned to Jana, his eyes a mix of surprise and respect.

Cs: I Tereza zvedla oči od mobilu, překvapená sestřiným výbuchem.
En: Even Tereza lifted her eyes from her phone, surprised by her sister’s outburst.

Cs: „Jano,“ začal otec váhavě. „Nechtěli jsme tě tím ranit.“
En: “Jano,” her father began hesitantly. “We didn’t mean to hurt you.”

Cs: „My jen chceme, aby sis uvědomila svůj potenciál,“ dodala matka, tentokrát s měkčím tónem.
En: “We just want you to realize your potential,” added her mother, this time in a softer tone.

Cs: Jana se posadila, ale v srdci cítila, jak se jí ulevilo.
En: Jana sat down, but in her heart, she felt a sense of relief.

Cs: „Já vím, ale potřebuji, abyste mě přijali takovou, jaká jsem.“
En: "I know, but I need you to accept me as I am."

Cs: Následující rozhovor byl jiný.
En: The ensuing conversation was different.

Cs: Otevřenější.
En: More open.

Cs: Stále bylo co řešit, ale Jana viděla, že její slova zasáhla svůj cíl.
En: There was still much to discuss, but Jana saw that her words hit home.

Cs: Možná to byl začátek změny.
En: Perhaps this was the beginning of change.

Cs: Možná se konečně vyjevila cesta k většímu porozumění a přijetí.
En: Perhaps there was now a path to greater understanding and acceptance.

Cs: A jak večerní světlo pomalu sláblo, v Janě vzrostl pocit nového začátku.
En: And as the evening light slowly faded, Jana felt a sense of a new beginning growing within her.

Cs: Cítila se silnější a více sama sebou než kdy dřív.
En: She felt stronger and more herself than ever before.
