V-Bottoms can evolve into Head and Shoulders or Cup and Handles for example. Being ready for either can mean more profits for you and less losses. 

Learn to anticipate these pattern transitions if you don't have a trading engine or simulator and you're trying to do it by hand. It will save you a lot of time and effort.
