For today's guest, we have Karen Bird from Batchewana First Nation, ON, an Anishnaabe woman who has received the 2015 Influential Women of Northern Ontario's Aboriginal Leadership Award and the 2018 ATHENA Leadership Award. She serves on the board of TakingITGlobal and is the first Indigenous President of the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce. Karen is a strong advocate for women in business, leadership and Indigenous sovereignty through consulting work and various speaking engagements. Karen's passion is to support sexual assault survivors and their families to heal as a unit through her non profit Nakehndan: Knowing Your Truth.
