It's always fun when I have family on the pod, and this week it's my Aunt Rana's (Auntie Boombaz) turn! Her voice may sound familiar, as she is 1/2 of the X&Z Podcast - my first guests of Season 2.
Thank you Boombaz for being so real and raw this week, it was an honor to sit with your story.
She starts off by sharing how she was severely bullied in high school, leading her to ultimately confront not only her bullies but also herself. Throughout this process she found the voice she so fearlessly uses today.
We also jump into:
-Intergenerational trauma
-Her moving to South America
-Messaging around therapy/getting outside help
-Why mental illness is not a trend

-Finding herself in her 40's
Though all important, one of the most valuable things we talk about is how my aunt developed very real OCD and Agoraphobia in her 20's, and how it has impacted her relationships.
