Tyler Moon was running his first 10 mile race on October 19, 2019 in the Twin Cities 10 Miler. Shortly after logging the first mile, Tyler collapsed from heart attack…
Two years later, he was back, lined up to complete the race that nearly killed him. He not only finished the race, he started his own ministry called “Moon Family Ministries.”
His story is one that will definitely inspire you to not let the devil keep you down. Amen!
Now, other than that brief information I just shared, tell us in your own words, “Who is Tyler Moon?”
Tyler, take us back to that day, October 19, 2019. Have you had any heart related issues prior to that date?
Were you married at that time? October 2019?
I’ve read where you only remember the first mile of the race. How far did you actually run before collapsing?
You do not remember having chest pains or anything during the race?
Were you born again on that day?
From simply running the race to – what? What is the first thing your remember after the first mile of the race?
Was your family at the race on that day?
What was the diagnosis (and can you explain it in layman’s terms)?
Did they do any surgeries or medical procedures to fix what was wrong?
What kind of physical therapy did they put you through and how soon did you have the dream of returning to running?
What did your doctors say to that idea?
How long did you train before entering your first race – post event?
You did the 10 mile race with, Jesse (Jesus), one of the people who performed CPR on you, correct?
The two of you have become fairly good friends, right?
Was there some kind of testing or medical testing you could have taken that would have found this medical issue before that day in October 2019?
Obviously, you’ve probably given your testimony “a few times” over the years. Have you been doing any public speaking on what happened, like TEDx talks or anything like that?
You’ve started “Moon Family Ministries,” in response, obviously, because the Lord is leading you to do so, not so much in response to your story of what happened. You are also in the “young adult ministry.” Is this in and through your local church? Tell us about that…
Tyler, this has been so interesting. If someone has a question or would like to find out more information, or possibly do an interview such as this… How can they do that? How can they get in touch with you?
I’ll put links to that in the show notes below.
Folks, this is a very serious issue. I’ve been witness to two young men die, while running, with this same issue. Both were while I was in the military, way back in the 1980’s. Technology was not as good back then as it is now. But, Tyler is an example, this is still prevalent, even today.
I urge you, if you feel anything at all is not “normal,” get checked out – especially before any taxing event on your body and heart.
Next, the most important thing, is knowing Jesus is your Savior. There is no guarantee for tomorrow. There is no...
