Another aspect of leading worship is reading from the Bible.

As part of my Methodist local preacher training I'm leading parts of services in various Churches. These were my opening prayers plus an unaccompanied rendition of one of my favourite hymns: How Great Thou Art. It's a prayer of praise set to music, with the wonderful line "then sings my soul". My soul sings the prayer, not just my voice.

Join me on an Autumn walk in West London with many vocal parakeets and fallen leaves to walk through. The occasional bangs were my cane hitting objects such as wheely bins and garden gates.

Many years ago I heard a program on Radio 4 called "Once Upon a Time on the Front Line" about a project, Storybook Soldiers, where soldiers could record stories for their children while they were abroad working. It was incredibly moving and made a big impression so I wrote this song and I shared it with the congregation at Church on Remembrance Sunday.

There were lots of fireworks here in West London to celebrate Diwali and possibly some premature bonfire night ones on 4 November. These were some of the loudest ones recorded from my window. Use headphones or good speakers for best stereo sound.

After an evening out I was caught in the rain on 20 October 2021. Listen out for the piano music coming from a house on the right a couple of minutes in. This stereo recording was made using microphones attached to headphones so, if you listen with good speakers, headphones or earbuds you'll get the full stereo effect. I was wearing a good raincoat and using an umbrella, which I shook before I went into the house near the end of the recording.
