Another helpful hand discovers the group, as The Old Timers meet Oldest Neil. They talk with him about his life moving through different times in the tunnels, seeking out all of the scattered versions of The Old Timers in order to help them find a potential way out, and to pick up some extra Neils along the way. Oldest Neil and Neil have a personal talk about their paths in life, and after Oldest Neil departs to find others in need of assistance, the group does something of the time warp again (and again) until they reach a strange threshold.

Face to Face with different versions of themselves who have been trapped down in the tunnels underneath Queen Maud for far longer than they have, The Old Timers have a brief confrontation with The Older Timers, who are scared and struggling. Before much can be said, though, a fight breaks out as corruption takes hold… and yet another familiar face joins the fray.

After making it off of the service elevator and into the caverns below Queen Maud, The Old Timers walk hand in hand into the unknown. Once in the unknown, it proves difficult to return to anything they knew before. Running in place, walking in circles, or something less comprehensible, the group finds themselves lost through time but stuck in the same ever-changing place. But on the bright side, they’re stuck with some familiar faces.

The Old Timers are separated by some sort of supernatural force before they can reach the bottom of the elevator shaft, and one by one they are presented new landscapes and conversations with both strange and familiar faces, while some deeper presence hiding below the surface confronts them.

Queen Maud is without a leader, The Guards are without their Lord Admin, The Hydra has lost its head. But there is more to be done before The Old Timers can delve deeper to search for a way to travel back to their own time. The group works with The Scientist to keep Queen Maud together for those that want to remain here, but with new form and a more just function. Avis, Devon, and Neil mend their relationship with Kid, and The Old Timers become even closer with better understanding. Goodbyes are given and new paths are laid out for everyone as The Old Timers make their way into a long forgotten access shaft that goes down, deep underneath the Earth, to some mysterious entity.

In the command room of Queen Maud, all entrances and exits are locked thanks to some help from the outside. The Lord Admin and his Right Hands are stuck, alone and face to face, with The Old Timers. The time has come for Avis, Devon, Neil, and The Kid to finally confront the Heads of the Hydra.

Devon and Avis bid Alex farewell and thanks for being a punching bag, and make their way out of their cell and up towards the top of the command tower of Queen Maud. On the way up, they run into Neil and Kid, who had lied their way into the base with Kid using the facade of a guard to fool the two posted at the entrance. After a quick reunion and some questions about Johnathan and Edna, they rush to The Scientist’s Laboratory to search for answers, but instead end up with an enlightening confrontation that may help them wrest The Lord Admin from his control of this place.

Beneath the command tower of Queen Maud, Devon and Avis sit in a small prison cell. The same place they have been sitting for quite some time, thinking of how to break out. Outside Queen Maud, Neil and Kid are hiding out in the mountains, thinking of how to break in. When a good opportunity presents itself, both pairs take their shot.

The Old Timers are stopped by the outer guard of Queen Maud, before being taken behind the wall to meet the Lord Admin here, at the location of the former secret research base of The United. On the other side of the wall, a bastion of the former world and its order seems to be thriving, The Old Timers are separated from The Merchant and The Pig, and a familiar face is waiting to greet them.

After The Merchant is left in an unconscious state, The Old Timers have to decide whether to stay and take care of her until she gets better, however long that may take, or leave her and The Pig behind. Tensions rise and hard talks are had between the whole group about this decision, and about what Devon has been hiding from Avis. When they eventually move on, traveling for nearly another month, they come across one surprise after another… before being stopped in their tracks by what’s waiting for them at the location of the supposed Secret Research Base.
