🖤 If you ever lost a beloved pet-you’re not alone. Food for Thought Sunday™️ 52 Apologies for the delayed Food for Thought Sunday™️ Although they’re not human, losing them can feel like losing a fam member. In this episode, I share my tribute to Jade, the kitty. Here is my FB post from this weekend. “With a saddened heart, I share this...Yesterday, Jade, the kitty, joined Lady, the dog, on the ‘Rainbow Bridge.’ She had stopped briefly on her nine-life journey, for some fifteen out of her seventeen years and sure rocked my world. It's true about them choosing us and them rescuing us, rather than the other way around...
And, although sometimes, we get wrapped up in life, and days, even weeks go by, without us, maybe catching a moment to just be, which they are so good at, when we still know that they are there, they bring such comfort, and make us smile, just by being themselves.
I had only been a ‘dog person,’ before this little 8 lbs of mischief and grace all-wrapped-in-one, appeared on a computer screen, and, with my encouragement, got chosen by an eleven-year-old to be our pet. After a forty-five-minute ride to pick her up in Richmond, cause that's where the chosen one was, and a long meowy drive home, our adventure with Jade began. As you can guess already, she picked me for her primary hooman, and it went like this...
At first I was quite terrified of being a cat owner, as I did not know what to expect, yet after learning CAT 101, by seeking advice from friends, books, blogs, and anyone who would give it, I knew that a wagging tale was bad in a kitty, and ears pulled back was even worse, and purring was great and nudge with her little nose was even better, and then I kept learning on the fly, as we lived our lives.
If she saw us packing up for a trip, she was either in the luggage, by the luggage, or on top of the luggage, for as long as possible.
She knew when to amuse me, comfort me, or just be by me, whenever, I needed her most.
She loved to surprise us by figuring out how to open a door (not kidding) by pressing on the handle, while standing on a counter or by pulling it underneath with her little paw (not the best lock on that door,) and by taking a nap, in my favorite basket, on a kitchen table, or sneaking into the closet to again take a nap and then an hour or two later, frantically scratch on the door of said closet to let her out.
She somehow, nearly always, found herself in the middle of the papers I was reviewing, books I was reading, keyboards I was working on, gifts I was wrapping, and she almost always greeted me at the door, yep, kinda, like a dog, and was sad to see me go.
I will miss her dearly, and I will always be grateful for the time and love she gave us. Till we meet again.” Calendly.com/RelocationGal Facebook.com/RelocationGal Mirella Kaell M.S. REALTOR®️ GREEN®️SRES®️ KW Bay Area Estates, Los Gatos, CA DRE 02057622 Stay informed. Be well. Be kind. 408-404-8156
