Three sets of differing music, I stole a lot of the music for the first electro set from from the great Satellite radio show/music blog Gorilla vs. Bear, then was a bit more an indie pop set, which was followed by a pure funk set.  All in all I think it was a good show. Best song I heard since the last show: Forever - Falling, see the video for the song here: http://www.gorillavsbear.net/video-premiere-forever-falling/ Links from the show: Get more information about Gorilla vs. Bear here: http://www.gorillavsbear.net/ And from Gorilla vs. Bear find out more about Blue Hawaii: http://www.gorillavsbear.net/jacques-greene-x-gorilla-vs-bear-takeover-blue-hawaii-interview/ You can download the latest show directly here: http://trepid.org/TCTAL/2017-08-25_final.mp3 For information on how to sign up for the podcast or join the Facebook group, see the bottom of this message. I finally got around to spotlighting the great festival called Indietracks which takes place each year in a historical train station in England.  I have never been to the festival but if there is no NYCpopfest again next year I will have to look into it.  As well they always put out a compilation of the bands that are playing each year, from that I got my first set and my Top Song. The first song of the show by Morly is a great down-beat, haunting tune that started a set that went together well.  The next set featured a song by Molly Nilsson that could have also been my top song, see the link for the video below.  I ended with a set of funk for the first time in a while Fun fact about this show: It wasn't until after that I realized that I played both a song called "Un-American Woman" and one titled "All American Girls". Best song I heard since the last show: Morly - Sleeping In My Own Bed, hear the song here: https://morly.bandcamp.com/track/sleeping-in-my-own-bed Links from the show: See the fun video for Molly Nilsson's song "About Somebody": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjbMXHfEZ24 See the awesome video for "All American Girls" by Sister Sledge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hv6WwaIx5g The original "Running Away" by Sly and the Family Stone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7bvIIgQIJU You can download the latest show directly here: http://trepid.org/TCTAL/2017-11-17_final.mp3 For information on how to sign up for the podcast or join the Facebook group, see the bottom of this message. After many years of doing this podcast using the name Fireball XL5 I have decided to change the name to the one I use for my DJ nights: The Coolest Thing About Love

I feel this better represents the type of music I play and be assured that the show will continue to feature the best recent indie pop that I can find, along with some ventures into funk and soul as usual.

So please come on over to thecoolestthingaboutlove.ca where the Itunes link is working along with a way to get an email everytime I release a new podcast.
