Job was told he would come forth "as gold". There is an alloy called "Corinthian Brass" that this refers to. It shimmers almost like gold but has a better durability. As a matter of fact, the heat of the furnace affects this alloy's brilliance just as our testings affect ours. Those things in our lives are just making us "as gold".

Just as a person's vitals can identify clinical deterioration the lack of worship can indicate poor health in a believer. Being that we serve what we worship, a changed object of worship is a changed allegiance in our service.
