On Sunday, July 21st, Pastor Norman discussed the importance of self control, and the ability to hold ourselves accountable for our own actions. Self control not only involves conversation, but also our finances, emotions, and personal pursuits. The scripture references for today are Proverbs 25:28 NIV Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control and also Acts 24:24-25 (NKJV)  And after some days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish, he sent for Paul and heard him concerning the faith in Christ. 25 Now as he reasoned about righteousness, self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and answered, “Go away for now; when I have a convenient time I will call for you.”

On Tuesday, July 16th, Pastor Norman kicked off Vacation Bible School with a lesson on patience. Patience is not a virtue to be achieved, but a character trait to be received. Patience is the ability to suffer-long, endure & wait (accept delay without complaint & disruption) while exemplifying the character of Christ.
