Pastor Greg continues with 1 John 2:7-11 - which shows the love John has for his readers. He builds up to a pointed challenge to all of us to love one another as Jesus loves us. John uses three comparisons in these passages that powerfully illustrate the importance of love. But love is not a "warm, fuzzy feeling." It's genuine compassion and caring actions that demonstrate the value of the other person.

Taken from the North American Mission Board Blog article "Start Something Worth Reproducing," Pastor Greg applies the challenge to the congregation of an established church. The six benefits of doing things worth reproducing found in the article are discussed as the benefits we will see in our own church if we do the things that matter to people - and not be so worried about our attendance and the like.

Could it be that the Church is missing the method of making disciples because we're looking for a formula or a checklist of things? Maybe the answer is to do what Jesus did. Pastor Greg suggests six things Jesus did to make disciples that will change how you view your role as a Christian and a church member. Your mission will take on a whole new perspective.

Continuing through 1 John, Pastor Greg challenges us with the first of the pointed marks of genuine believers - Obedience to Jesus. In a time of unprecedented disobedience and selfishness, the discipline of obedience to Christ is easy to spot. Is YOUR life marked by obedience to Him?

Continuing through the NT book of 1 John, Pastor Greg examines two special benefits available to everyone (though most choose not to believe it). When you start a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ, He will stand between you and the righteous judge on your behalf so your guilt is taken away. Secondly, He pays the penalty so you don't have to, and the Righteous Judge is satisfied that the Law has been fulfilled. Won't you trust Jesus to do this for you?

Our March message series is about being missional. Challenging the congregation to step up their ideas about what that means, Pastor Greg begins with today's message. The question we should all consider is this: Is it always BAD to be unreasonable? The answer, coming from the Bible, is that to live for Christ is always good - and usually considered to be unreasonable to the world's system of thinking. Pastor Greg suggests five areas of our lives that we should be "unreasonable" in the eyes of the world. Doing so will have an impact that is, well, a God-thing!

Using a loaf of bread, Pastor Greg shares what Jesus meant when He said, "I am the bread of life." The heart hungers for a daily relationship with the Lord. It brings life to the spirit like bread to the body. The allegory of John 6:48-51 makes it clear that we need the Lord - and He offers Himself to all who will take Him in and let Him nourish our spirits to eternal life The change that will take place in all who do will be obvious to everyone!

The real Believer will deal with darkness within. Pastor Greg takes 1 John 1:8-10 to show that there is a two-step process of dealing with sin within every believer as part of the sanctification process (spiritual growth and transformation) we go through after being saved. Are you dealing with sin biblically?

Today's message offers hope for all who seek to have their hearts' needs met where it matters. Many look for salvation in many places. Few actually find it. Salvation comes in many forms - but the True Savior offers it all. The God of the Bible has only offered True salvation from one source - Himself! Isaiah 53 provides one of the greatest descriptions of the Savior so we may know Him when we see Him - and He is Jesus Christ.

The first part of the an expository series on the most quoted, oft neglected book of the New Testament: 1 John. The book was written to believers in order to shore up their faith for hard times. This first sermon, on 1:1-4 gives us hope that our Biblical Savior is indeed the Son of God - and many other things.
