Hebrews 11 is often referenced as the hall of faith.  Hebrews 12 makes the transition to a greater faith through Jesus Christ.  In this sermon from the Greater Than series, Pastor Whaley considers Jesus Himself as the greater faith.  He is the faith which receives the promise of sure salvation unknown to the prophets, the faith which can do its complete work, and the faith which can only be learned through obedience.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, August 21, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

Sacrifice and faith go hand in hand.  In this sermon from the Greater Than Series, we look to Hebrews 8 where we see that the former sacrifices of the Old Testament are not sufficient to make us perfect with God because they must be continually offered and always serve as a reminder of sin's power.  But Jesus is the greater sacrifice because His sacrifice is once for all, is effectual for perfection, and promotes love and good works in the heart of the redeemed.  This teaching was presented on Sunday, August 7, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

God is a maker of covenants.  In this sermon, we turn to Hebrews 8 to hear how the new covenant relationship between God and man is based on Jesus Christ and not on any other person or thing.  This new covenant in Christ results in God's word being birthed into our hearts and minds, God's people being grafted into His family, God's spirit being the only teacher we need, and God's mercy and forgiveness being available freely and completely.  All of this because of Jesus is the greater covenant of God!  This teaching was presented on Sunday, July 31, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!

We make lots of promises. Sometimes we keep them, sometimes not.  However, God in Christ is a promise keeper!  In the sermon from the Greater Than series, we turn our attention to Hebrews 6.  There we find God's promise is backed by His nature, and shown to us through Jesus Christ.  Because of this, God's promise is unshakeable and always trustworthy.  Those who take refuge in Christ have strong encouragement in hope and do not panic in a world full of worry.  Jesus, Himself, is God's best promise!  This teaching was presented on Sunday, July 24, 2016.  This podcast is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Thank you for listening!
