This Week: Does God Want to Heal Me?

If you’ve ever wondered why healing feels so far away, you’re not alone. This Sunday, we’re asking a raw and honest question: Does God want to heal me? Come hear how Christ’s healing love meets us right where we’re hurting most.

Sermon Series: Multitasking Grace

Salvation isn’t one-size-fits-all. So how does Jesus meet us in our real lives? Each week we’ll explore a different metaphor or model of how Jesus saves us—rooted in Scripture and focused on post-resurrection appearances and stories. Join us as we embrace peace, healing, abundance, reunion, liberation, restoration, and clarity.

Sermon preached by Dallas Flippin, on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Jackson, MI.

This Week: Disruptor

Jesus flipped more than tables—he flipped expectations.

What if your faith isn’t stuck because it’s broken, but because it’s too predictable?

What if the accusations against Jesus were true—but not in the way his accusers thought? This Lent, On Trial invites you to step into the courtroom of history, where claims of madness, rebellion, and sacrilege were thrown at the Messiah. From Ash Wednesday to Good Friday, discover how these charges hold a mirror to our own hearts and reveal a Savior who turns every verdict upside down.

What looks wasteful to one person might be sacred to another. Jesus and his disciples didn’t always agree about that—and the same tension lives in us today. This week, we’ll explore what happens when generosity, judgment, and devotion collide.

This Week: Blasphemer

Some people want a world full of guilty, manageable people—ashamed, silent, and dependent. Jesus wanted people to get up and live. This Sunday, we’re exploring the moment Jesus was accused of blasphemy… just for forgiving someone.

Would you be comfortable hanging out with the people Jesus surrounded himself with? The Pharisees weren’t. This Sunday, we’re stepping into the controversy of Jesus’ ‘wrong crowd’—and what it means for us today.

This Sunday, we’re digging into the two times Jesus “broke” the Sabbath—and what it means when following God means breaking expectations. Let’s talk about what happens when obedience to God puts us at odds with the world.
