In John 15:1-5 and 11, Jesus reveals himself as the true vine, the source and sustainer of life, who cleanses his people and enables them to bear fruit as they remain connected to him. Abiding in Christ means praying in every circumstance, walking in the Spirit, and displaying a transformed heart and mind, with obedience flowing from love and producing deep, lasting joy.

In Ephesians 1:3-14, Paul shows that believers are a people chosen and redeemed through God's saving plan for the purpose of his praise.
